La emisora de televisión UPV Radiotelevisió informó sobre un workshop de la companía Ingelia y la Universitat Politècnica de València.

"Con la crisis económica aún presente, es importante para la industria avanzar en el camino de las energías renovables. Y un gran paso es el que ha conseguido la empresa valenciana Ingelia, en estrecha colaboración con el Instituto de Tecnología Química, centro mixto de la Universitat Politècnica de València y el CSIC."

NEWAPP was presented at the World Bioenergy Conference 2014, held in Jönköping, Sweden, on the 3-5th June 2014, with the presentation titled “New technological applications for wet biomass streams through HTC”, by Lucía Doyle from ttz Bremerhaven.

NEWAPP presented at the European Biomass conference and exhibition, 24th June 2014 at the Congress Center Hamburg. The poster” NEWAPP: New Technological Applications for Wet Biomass Stream Products“ was presented at the most important biomass conference of the year, with Andrea Salimbeni as Project Coordinator (EUBIA) and Lucía Doyle as scientific coordinator (ttz). In addition to this, a specific session about NEWAPP project was hosted at the EUBIA stand of the conference.

NEWAPP will be presented at the SETAC LCA Case Study Symposium, to be held in 24-26 November 2014 in Novi Sad, Serbia , with the abstracts titled “Environmental life cycle assessment of hydrochar application to soil as a potential carbon storage technology” and “Assessing the environmental impacts of hydrochar for electricity generation”, presented by DTU

 The SETAC LCA Case Study symposium’s “main purpose is to develop an intensive discussion on how LCA can contribute to innovation and enhance the (re)design of new and existing products and services, by respecting eco-design principles”. The LCA case study symposia are organized annually; in 2012 DTU was hosting and organizing, reaching around 220 participants from around the world. Similar number of participants is expected this year in Serbia. The symposium’s website is here.

NEWAPP will be presented at the NorLCA Symposium, to be held on the 2 – 3 October 2014 in Reykjavik, Iceland, with the abstracts titled “Environmental life cycle assessment of hydrochar application to soil as a potential carbon storage technology” and “Assessing the environmental impacts of hydrochar for electricity generation”, presented by DTU.

Nordic Life Cycle Association, NorLCA was founded in 2004 with support of the Nordic Council of Ministers with the vision of “creating a platform to promote the cross-fertilization of the life-cycle thinking philosophy between academia, industry and the public sector”. NorLCA symposia are organized approximately biannually. DTU is a co-organizer this year; a total of 30 abstracts will be presented in the form of oral presentations mainly from European countries. Un nuevo proyecto de investigación, financiado por la Unión Europea con el objetivo de encontrar nuevas vías de valorización de biomasa húmeda residual, se acaba de iniciar con éxito Ocho entidades pertenecientes a cuatro países distintos de la UE, van a colaborar conjuntamente durante los próximos treinta meses, en el proyecto "NEWAPP". El proyecto se centra en la aplicación del proceso de carbonización hidrotermal (HTC) para transformar la biomasa húmeda residual en productos similares al carbón.
